This is one piece in an ongoing series of email blasts aimed at the mailing list for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in support of their annual fundraising walk.
Dear AFSP Western Division,
Thank you for participating in the 2009 Out of the Darkness Community Walk. The 2009 walk was an unparalleled success and we were able to host 500 walk participants and raised nearly $70,000! More importantly, we were able to spread the word about suicide risk and mental health issues and provide support and a sense of community in a more personal way.
The 2010 San Francisco Community Walk will take place on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Lake Merced. Registration is now open. Help us reach out fundrasing goal of $100,000 by forming a team and registering today! Take a moment to register for the San Francisco Walk here.
Please read the message below to find out about new additions to the San Francisco Walk!
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on September 26th!

Help us out.
AFSP is almost entirely volunteer driven, and our successes with the community walks is dependent on the energetic and enthusiastic volunteers who donate their time and effort. **If you're able to help out the day of the event, we can always use the help. This is a great way to participate and to become a part of the event itself. **Getting the word out, both about the Out of the Darkness Walks and about AFSP in general, is one of the most important parts of our mission. If you think you could help our PR committee in finding the local media in your area, let us know! **If you'd like to help plan the walk and become a member of the planning team or would like to volunteer the day of the event, please contact Gordon Dxxxx at gdxx@sbcglobal.net |
